ShowTime Express Camp

ShowTime Express is one of SkyRise's most popular summer program: Each day the actors will learn a wide variety of music theater techniques including: music, dance, acting, specialties- these are important performing and life skills for on and off the stage. The technique classes will help them grow in confidence for the mini performances we will perform at the end of each camp day. For the mini-performances, the actors will learn a scene, song, dance from a popular broadway musical in show-appropriate costumes. Parents are invited for the last 15 minutes to watch the performance. (free admission) For those who are not able to attend, we will be filming and sharing with families as well.
 
Camp will still be 9am-2pm with the mini performance promptly starting at 1:45pm each day.
 
STUDENTS WILL LEARN HOW TO
* Embody their character through movement on stage
* Cultivate their own creativity to develop character traits
* React to the scene as their character would, through lines or visual reactions
* Improvise in character on stage
* Be comfortable with public speaking
* Vocalize through warmups to prepare their singing and speaking voice
* Sing healthily (vocal health is a priority) and in character
* Stretch their bodies to prepare for dance and on stage movement
* Be a team player in a show, and the importance of every actor on stage
* Work with peers in a broad age range and see those benefits
* Love and respect for the arts
* Gain and maintain confidence in their unique gifts as they grow
