Rugby is offered as a Varsity sport at Algonquin High School, for both Boys and Girls.

New England Rugby Club is focused on developing youth rugby (grades K-8) as part of the Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization. Rugby can teach teamwork skills, confidence, persistence, understanding, cooperation, and respect for fellow athletes. Rugby is a dynamic game where an attacking side can run, pass, and even kick the ball.  While the defending side is trying to stop them and steal the ball.  

Flag rugby is a fast-paced game that keeps kids moving and allows them to develop their fundamental movement skills.  
The primary health benefits are:
• Cardiovascular Endurance
• Balance, Agility and Coordination
• Speed

Neary and Trottier students are invited to come out and give rugby a try!
Free 1 day evening clinic Open to grades 4-8.
Flag rugby is…
…Easy to learn: We will teach basic rules and skills of flag rugby.
…Fun to play: By the end of the session, we will be playing rugby!
... A High School sport for Boys and Girls at ARHS.
…Like flag football: It is non-contact, and is the style played by grades K-6 by Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization (MYRO)
