Comics Journalism Workshop

Dates: Monday, July 15- Friday, July 19 (participants should attend all 5 days)
Times: 10:30am - 12:30pm (option to stay until 1:30pm for individual coaching)
Description: Students will learn the basics of comics journalism and use the comics medium to convey news and information.
The week's activities will include:
   -Identifying local, state, regional, national or international news stories to cover
   -Interviewing sources and gathering other information— using the Southborough Library —related to their custom news stories
   -Developing an angle for the news story and writing a prose version of the news story
   -Developing a thumbnail/rough draft of their comics journalism piece
   -Researching and producing finished artwork of their comics journalism pieces
