Join resident instructor Chris Gazarian as he leads individuals of all levels who are interested in enhancing their pottery skills and knowledge. Through the creation process, students will explore the relationship between form and function and will receive demonstrations and instruction on basic hand-building construction processes and finishing techniques for functional ceramics. This 10-week class will also include a brief introduction to the potter's wheel for creating functional work.

4:30 PM - 7:00 PM    Safe Sitter ® Babysitting class + CPR/AED certification - Safe Sitter ® babysitting class + CPR/AED certification
Safe Sitter® babysitting classes have been preparing young teens to care for younger children for over 40 years. The program follows guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association. Students will learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. They will learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering and baby care. Learn skills such as choking rescue and learning a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Life & Business Skills: The ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students will receive a certification of completion of the class.This is a two-day course: Participants will attend both Tuesday and Wednesday classes. This is a parent drop-off and pick-up program.

Join us for a Spring Pottery Workshop, designed for ages 10 to 15.  Unleash your creativity as you craft beautiful spring-themed pottery pieces, perfect for parent gifts or seasonal decorations. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring a fun and rewarding experience for all skill levels.  Please plan to wear comfortable clothes and shoes or bring an apron to wear because it can get messy.The clay projects will not be available to take home at the end of class.  The turnaround time will be 1-2 weeks for drying, glazing, and kiln firing.Pottery in BloomSunday, April 27th 1:00- 4:00 PM Ages 10-15                        $50.00Project pick up will be Thursday, May 8th  or Friday, May 9th  Summer Spin & SculptSunday, June 1st   1:00- 4:00  PM Ages 10-15                        $50.00Project pick up will be Thursday, June 12th  or Friday, June 13th

Safe@Home is ideal for students that have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.Southborough Recreation will not be providing transportation to this program due to the later start time.   Parents are responsible for drop off and 6:30pm pick up at the Recreation Department, 21 Highland Street, Southborough.
