Join Southborough Recreation as we take part in recreational league play with Northborough, Westborough, Grafton, and Hudson Recreation. This league is not super competitive, but if you sign up, you must have some experience playing.Teams will play one game per week at either 6:00pm or 7:30pm in Hudson, Northborough, Southborough, and Westborough. Teams will consist of 13 players. 10 players on the field. Everyone bats. Players will be responsible for bringing their own gloves. Batting helmets are not required.The league will provide game balls, an umpire, team t-shirts, at least one team bat, and a face mask to be worn by the pitcher (not required). Additional gameplay rules will be provided prior to the start of the season. Take the fun of doing Science outside - an area behind the school building but still on the school ground! We will be outside doing fun hand-on Science experiments (weather permits - otherwise, we will be indoor) learning about the outdoor science around them. Our young scientists are going to do some requested messy science experiments and experiments that require more space in this session outside. Do you like stories about mythical creatures, magicians, and wizards? Or maybe you dream about going on an alien space adventure! Mermaids? Time travel? As the author, it will all be up to you, as you give life to a fantasy world of your own design. Mold your protagonist and give them some villainous bad guys to outsmart, design a breathtakingly beautiful setting or a dystopian underworld. Dream up some dizzy adventures. Our Right Brain Curriculum teachers will help you with the nuts & bolts: Giving your story a gripping conflict, “Stretching out” a scene, bringing your dialogue to life, sequencing events, and choosing those ultra-impressive synonyms. Roll up your sleeves and get ready for some friendly competition! Kids will have a set amount of time to create and decorate confections based on Spring & Summer Time Themes like Spring Flowers, Baby Animals, Beach Day & more! We will be working with cupcakes, cookies, frosting, fondant and decorations! Build and take home your very own Cyber-Crawler Robot! This smart coding robotics kit entertains and teaches programming skills to inquisitive young future robotic engineers! With the aid of your instructor, you will each assemble your own robot that consists of 76 pieces. Once completed, a simple press-button programming keypad embedded on its cranium will send your Cyber-Crawler on its way! You can design obstacles and maze courses with your classmates and see how far you can go. With a maximum storage capacity of 64 tasks, your Cyber-Crawler Robot will be a terrific starter tool to learn the joy of coding!
