Program Cancellations
Cancellations for Recreation Department sponsored programming will be announced by the Recreation Department. Email will be utilized for all participants registered into a program. The Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel programs for any reason they deem necessary (weather, enrollment numbers, safety, etc.)

Behavior Policy
Appropriate behavior is expected from all participants and parents at all times during recreation programs. To ensure safe and enjoyable programs and facilities for all participants, the Southborough Recreation Department has developed the following Code of Conduct:

• Show respect to all participants and staff.
• Refrain from using offensive language and obscene behavior.
• Refrain from causing bodily harm to other participants or staff.
• Show respect for equipment, supplies and facilities.
• Abide by the guidelines encouraged by Southborough Public School Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan.

Additional rules may be developed for particular programs as deemed necessary by staff. The Southborough Recreation Department strives to protect and respect the rights of all participants. A positive approach will be used when handling behavior issues. The Southborough Recreation Department reserves the right to dismiss a participant from the program depending on the severity of the conduct. If a behavioral management plan has been developed through your child’s school, please inform the staff so that we can support the effort to the best of our abilities.
Make Up Classes
We will do our best to provide make up classes to anything that is cancelled or postponed. The Recreation Department reserves the right to offer a qualified substitute instructor in the event the listed program coordinator is not available, or end a class due to schedule conflicts.
Scholarships are available for Southborough Residents only. Scholarship applications can be found on our website under the “forms” tab.
Program Aides
If you would like to request a program aide (1:1) be provided for your child during a recreation program, please inform the Recreation Department no later than 10 business days prior to the start of your registered program. The Southborough Recreation Department cannot guarantee an aide will be secured.
