WELCOME TO SOUTHBOROUGH PICKLEBALLBEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Our curriculum will begin with the basics and end with participants playing full games against each other.- Space is limited to 8 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.BEGINNER 2Players must have completed Beginner 1 clinic or rated 2.5 with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. This is for players who want to gain more confidence on the court and improve their overall pickleball experience. Spring Pottery Workshop for Tweens & Teens - Spring in Bloom Tween/Teen Pottery Class
Join us for a Spring Pottery Workshop, designed for ages 10 and up. Unleash your creativity as you craft beautiful spring-themed pottery pieces, perfect for parent gifts or seasonal decorations. Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step, ensuring a fun and rewarding experience for all skill levels. Please plan to wear comfortable clothes and shoes or bring an apron to wear because it can get messy. The clay projects will not be available to take home at the end of class. Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. WELCOME TO SOUTHBOROUGH PICKLEBALLBEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Our curriculum will begin with the basics and end with participants playing full games against each other.- Space is limited to 8 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.BEGINNER 2Players must have completed Beginner 1 clinic or rated 2.5 with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. This is for players who want to gain more confidence on the court and improve their overall pickleball experience. The program focuses on proper technique and mechanics in developing more consistency with shots like dinks, drops, groundstrokes, volleys, serves, etc.- Space is limited to 8 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. Join Southborough Recreation as we take part in recreational league play with Northborough, Westborough, Grafton, and Hudson Recreation. This league is not super competitive, but if you sign up, you must have some experience playing.Teams will play one game per week at either 4:30pm or 6pm in a nearby town. Teams will consist of 13 players. 10 players on the field. Everyone bats. Players will be responsible for bringing their own gloves. Batting helmets are not required.The league will provide game balls, an umpire, team t-shirts, at least one team bat, and a face mask to be worn by the pitcher (not required). Additional gameplay rules will be provided prior to the start of the season. Cooking is a life skill, and so is eating!On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen’s enthusiastic Facilitators get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients!Students engage with food in a way that is both educational and fun. Through hands-on experience, kids are taught the value of fresh, healthy ingredients and gainappreciation for the process of transforming those ingredients into a finished product. Each class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work.Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation isencouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own.Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned at home!Parents report their kids come home from Kids’ Test Kitchen EXCITED about fresh ingredients and new flavors! Reluctant eaters learn that food is safe and fun! And everyone practices essential life skills like teamwork, time management, and patience, along with the obvious skills like slicing, measuring, and cooking! Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. In Story Makers, students create, imagine, and write as they step into the role of authors, dreaming up original characters, exciting plots, and imaginative worlds of their own. Whether their stories involve dragons, superheroes, mysteries, or everyday adventures, kids learn how stories are built—from strong beginnings to satisfying endings. Each session focuses on a different element of storytelling, helping students turn ideas in their heads into words on the page.With guidance from Right Brain Curriculum instructors, students practice essential writing skills like character development, dialogue, setting, and conflict in a supportive, creative environment. The class emphasizes imagination, confidence, and self-expression, while giving young writers tools they can use in school and beyond. By the end, students will have stories they’re proud to share—and the excitement to keep writing on their own.

WELCOME TO SOUTHBOROUGH PICKLEBALLBEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Our curriculum will begin with the basics and end with participants playing full games against each other.- Space is limited to 8 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.BEGINNER 2Players must have completed Beginner 1 clinic or rated 2.5 with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. This is for players who want to gain more confidence on the court and improve their overall pickleball experience. The program focuses on proper technique and mechanics in developing more consistency with shots like dinks, drops, groundstrokes, volleys, serves, etc.- Space is limited to 8 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.COACHED PLAY-UP THE RIVER, DOWN THE RIVERFor students that have taken a Beginner Level Two Clinic or are rated 2.75. Play for 12 minutes, the winning team moves up a court and splits and the losing team moves down a court and splits. During and between games get professional coaching, tips on technique and strategy. Also a great way to meet new players at your level! Let’s get creative with electricity! In this junior hands-on electronics class, students will gain experience with creating their own electronics; designing custom light-up greeting cards, electric games, mazes, and even musical instruments. Each class day consists of a circuitry lesson and a hands-on electronics project, using components like lights, buzzers, switches, motors, and sensors. Circuit Lab staff will make sure participants create a project that they can be proud of each day. Most class days include a take-home project.

Sewing is fun! In this class, you will learn the basics of the sewing machine (including safety) as well as some different hand stitches.
