Pickleball Lessons - Spring 2 Pickleball Lessons Beginner 2 Morning
BEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Join resident instructor Chris Gazarian as he leads individuals of all levels who are interested in enhancing their pottery skills and knowledge. Through the creation process, students will explore the relationship between form and function and will receive demonstrations and instruction on basic hand-building construction processes and finishing techniques for functional ceramics. This 10-week class will also include a brief introduction to the potter's wheel for creating functional work.

The Track and Field Program focuses on an introduction to several events such as distance running, relays, long jump, shot put, and javelin. Conditioning techniques are also stressed, in addition to practice time. There will be opportunities to participate in track meets throughout the season.
The track season runs April 1 through May 29th (taking into account potential states qualifications-Middle School State Meet is June 6th). Practices will be held on Tuesdays from 2:15pm - 3:30pm and Thursdays 2:15pm - 3:30pm (late bus is available). Meets will take place the following dates at 3:45 PM. This program is open to boys and girls and focuses on personal growth through setting and achieving goals, enhancing their running skills, and building endurance. The club emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and a passion for running, helping students develop both physically and mentally. Through guided training and a supportive environment, students are encouraged to improve their performance, grow in confidence, and foster a lifelong love for running. The program will conclude with a fun, friendly competition of various events students have participated in over the session. May include, but not limited to, 100m, 200m, 400m and team relay.This class runs rain or shine so please have participants plan accordingly.

FAST SPORTS: Floor/Street Hockey - Woodward Floor/Street Hockey
Come join F.A.S.T. Athletics for some floor/street hockey fun. Fundamentals of hockey will be taught through training stations the first portion of the course. One-timers, passing, shooting and dribbling will be some of the training focus in the beginning. After the instructional period is over, each day will end with a good old fashion floor hockey game. At the beginning of class; we will remind the students of safety and good sportsmanship.

In this class for Woodward students in grades 2 and 3 you will explore the genre of collage art. More than just paper, ribbon, glue, and buttons; this class offers each student a chance to select and incorporate diverse mixed art media into one-of-a-kind compositions. During this five-week class, students will work on a book of multiple collages that express their unique creative interests and individual perspectives. Each week they will be given time to create and expand their knowledge of this art form in class and beyond. No experience necessary and beginners are welcome. This class will be from 3:15 to 4:30 PM and will be held at Collage Art Studio located at 205 Turnpike Road, Southborough. Transportation will be provided by Southborough Recreation to Collage Art Studio. Pick up is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

STEM is Fun! - STEM is Fun!
Join us for 5 weeks of fun STEM learning, where children will learn different Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math concepts using a variety of tools and techniques. We will do simple experiments, building challenges, team-based activities, and mind-boggling discoveries! There will be a new topic each time, offering STEM lessons that help children learn new things, discover how things work, and create solutions to problems. We stimulate their minds and empower them to be life-long STEM learners. STEM is FUN!* Students will do hands-on activities during the class, and may bring home an output from the lesson.* A newsletter with a collage of pictures will be emailed to families after each class, to describe the lesson that took place, and will provide extended STEM-at home activities.

All trades must be agreed upon by both parties.

Come join F.A.S.T. Athletics for some floor/street hockey fun. Fundamentals of hockey will be taught through training stations the first portion of the course. One-timers, passing, shooting and dribbling will be some of the training focus in the beginning. After the instructional period is over, each day will end with a good old fashion floor hockey game. Join Southborough Recreation as we take part in recreational league play with Northborough, Westborough, Grafton, and Hudson Recreation. This league is not super competitive, but if you sign up, you must have some experience playing.Teams will play one game per week at either 4:30pm or 6pm in a nearby town. Teams will consist of 13 players. 10 players on the field. Everyone bats. Players will be responsible for bringing their own gloves. Batting helmets are not required.The league will provide game balls, an umpire, team t-shirts, at least one team bat, and a face mask to be worn by the pitcher (not required). Additional gameplay rules will be provided prior to the start of the season. This program is open to boys and girls and focuses on personal growth through setting and achieving goals, enhancing their running skills, and building endurance. The club emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and a passion for running, helping students develop both physically and mentally. Through guided training and a supportive environment, students are encouraged to improve their performance, grow in confidence, and foster a lifelong love for running. The program will conclude with a fun, friendly competition of various events students have participated in over the session. May include, but not limited to, 100m, 200m, 400m and team relay.This class runs rain or shine so please have participants plan accordingly.

Join Southborough Recreation as we take part in recreational league play with Northborough, Westborough, Grafton, and Hudson Recreation. This league is not super competitive, but if you sign up, you must have some experience playing.Teams will play one game per week at either 4:30pm or 6pm in a nearby town. Teams will consist of 13 players. 10 players on the field. Everyone bats. Players will be responsible for bringing their own gloves. Batting helmets are not required.The league will provide game balls, an umpire, team t-shirts, at least one team bat, and a face mask to be worn by the pitcher (not required). Additional gameplay rules will be provided prior to the start of the season. Pre-K T-ball - Pre-K Spring T-Ball
Let’s take a walk through the fundamentals of America’s favorite pastime. The children will learn the basic skills in fielding, throwing, hitting, and base running. In addition, they will play games, such as home run derby, last one standing, and running bases. This is an easy introduction into t-ball, where learning and skill development are our priorities.

REGISTRATION FOR THE CIT PROGRAM IS CLOSEDCOUNSELOR IN TRAINING: Ages 13 & 14 June 30th to August 15th 2025 MONDAY - FRIDAY 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM Location: Woodward Elementary School $175.00 per week (Week I $140.00)Invoices will be sent upon acceptance into the program. ALERT: NEW PROCESS Southborough Recreation’s Counselor in Training program is a specialized part of our summer camp for ages 13-14 looking to acquire skills while assisting in the work of our summer program. All CIT’s will be required to submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or group leader, and interview for their position prior to official enrollment into this program. An invoice will be sent through MyRec upon acceptance. CIT Letter of Recommendation and Letter of Intent Due APRIL 1st Selected CIT’s will be exposed to situations such as behavior management, safety, programming, and team building. CITs will work across both age groups to be exposed to as many situations and experiences as possible. REGISTRATION FOR THE CIT PROGRAM IS CLOSEDCOUNSELOR IN TRAINING: Ages 13 & 14 June 30th to August 15th 2025 MONDAY - FRIDAY 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM Location: Woodward Elementary School $175.00 per week (Week I $140.00)Invoices will be sent upon acceptance into the program. ALERT: NEW PROCESS Southborough Recreation’s Counselor in Training program is a specialized part of our summer camp for ages 13-14 looking to acquire skills while assisting in the work of our summer program. All CIT’s will be required to submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach or group leader, and interview for their position prior to official enrollment into this program. An invoice will be sent through MyRec upon acceptance. CIT Letter of Recommendation and Letter of Intent Due APRIL 1st Selected CIT’s will be exposed to situations such as behavior management, safety, programming, and team building. CITs will work across both age groups to be exposed to as many situations and experiences as possible. A 10% sibling discount will be offered for the Full Day Summer Program for siblings attending the same week. Discount applied automatically at check out. Southborough residents only.Join Southborough Recreation for seven (7) weeks of fun through our 2025 Summer Season! Southborough Recreation Summer exposes children to a wide variety of programming on-site and off-site. From traditional activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and special events, to off-site visits to surrounding Southborough facilities, your child will enjoy an active summer with friends!Our Summer staff consists of high school and college aged individuals who are CPR/First Aid certified and trained extensively by the Southborough Recreation staff to ensure your child has the most rewarding summer possible. Children will be grouped and split up by age: 4–6 years old (Fayville Summer) and 7–12 years old (Cordaville Summer). REGISTRATION FOR EACH SESSION WILL CLOSE ONE(1) WEEK BEFORE. If your desired week is sold out - please add your child to the wait list!Medical forms are due by May 29, 2025. If medical forms are not received, Southborough Recreation reserves the right to remove your enrollment from the program with no refund. Forms can now be uploaded to your child's account or mailed to 21 Highland Street, Southborough, MA 01772. Join Game Time Training for youth basketball summer hoops designed solely for the youngsters! This is one of the only camps in the MetroWest specifically for 1st - 6th graders. Those participating will have a fun and skill-focused introduction to the game. Led by experienced coaches, campers will work on fundamental skills like dribbling, shooting, and teamwork in an encouraging and positive environment. Each day is filled with exciting drills, games, and activities that build confidence and foster a love for the sport. By the end of the camp, players will have improved their skills, made new friends, and gained a memorable experience on the court.
