Neary Girls Running Club - Neary Girls Running Club This new program focuses on personal growth through setting and achieving goals, enhancing their running skills, and building endurance. The club emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and a passion for running, helping students develop both physically and mentally. Through guided training and a supportive environment, girls are encouraged to improve their performance, grow in confidence, and foster a lifelong love for running. The program will conclude with a group 5k run on the last class, December 5th. This class runs rain or shine so please have participants plan accordingly.
Parents are asked to pick up their child at the Trottier track at 4:05 PM

Lego Adventures - Woodward Lego Adventures: Get Your Lego Game On! Are you a Lego master? If so, it’s time to show off your skills! Each week we present a new building challenge: From skyscrapers to zoos, bridges to airports, malls to main streets, and everything in between! First, our Right Brain Curriculum instructors will review the history of what we are about to build: How airports graduated from landing strips to vast travel networks or how aeroelasticity explains why the Tacoma bridge nicknamed “Galloping Gertie” collapsed. Then, it’s time to build! You will create a model of each structure out of an enormous assortment of provided Legos, then present your creation as we photograph and document it. Learning and Legos:Now that’s an adventure!

FAST SPORTS: Floor Hockey - Finn Floor Hockey Come join F.A.S.T. Athletics for some floor hockey fun. Fundamentals of hockey will be taught through training stations the first portion of the course. One-timers, passing, shooting and dribbling will be some of the training focus in the beginning. After the instructional period is over, each day will end with a good old fashion floor hockey game. At the beginning of class; we will remind the students of safety and good sportsmanship.

Paradise Island: Halloween & Thanksgiving Nailed It - Finn Halloween & Thanksgiving Nailed It Just like on the popular TV show, kids will be tasked with a challenge to re-create a confectionary masterpiece using pre-made ingredients like fondant, cake, cupcakes, rice krispies, and various frostings/icings based on Fall Halloween and Thanksgiving Themes. No experience necessary, just bring yourself, your imagination & take all of your masterpieces home to enjoy! All ingredients used are nut-free however; some pre-made ingredients may be processed in a facility that also processes nuts.

Safe Sitter ® Babysitting class + CPR/AED certification - Safe Sitter ® babysitting class + CPR/AED certification Safe Sitter® babysitting classes have been preparing young teens to care for younger children for over 40 years. The program follows guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association. Students will learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. They will learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering and baby care. Learn skills such as choking rescue and learning a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Life & Business Skills: The ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students will receive a certification of completion of the class.This is a two-day course: Participants will attend both Monday and Tuesday classes.
This is a parent drop-off and pick-up program. Due to the late start time after school, Recreation transportation will not be offered.

Pickleball Lessons - Indoor Pickleball: Beginner I (Wednesday) BEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Our curriculum will begin with the basics and end with participants playing full games against each other.- Space is limited to 6 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.BEGINNER 2Must have completed Beginner 1 clinic or rated 2.5 with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. This is for players who want to gain more confidence on the court and improve their overall pickleball experience. Each week we present a new building challenge: From skyscrapers to zoos, bridges to airports, malls to main streets, and everything in between! First, our Right Brain Curriculum instructors will review the history of what we are about to build: How airports graduated from landing strips to vast travel networks or how aeroelasticity explains why the Tacoma bridge nicknamed “Galloping Gertie” collapsed. Then, it’s time to build! You will create a model of each structure out of an enormous assortment of provided Legos, then present your creation as we photograph and document it. FAST SPORTS: Floor Hockey - Finn Floor Hockey Come join F.A.S.T. Athletics for some floor hockey fun. Fundamentals of hockey will be taught through training stations the first portion of the course. One-timers, passing, shooting and dribbling will be some of the training focus in the beginning. After the instructional period is over, each day will end with a good old fashion floor hockey game. At the beginning of class; we will remind the students of safety and good sportsmanship.

Safe @ Home - Safe@Home Safe@Home is ideal for students that have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.Transportation will be provided from the Neary School to the Recreation Department. Narcan Training - Narcan Training In collaboration with the Southborough Board of Health - Narcan is the brand name of the generic naloxone and is a life-saving medication that can reverse an overdose from opioids - including heroin, fentanyl, and prescription medications - when given in time. This Free Narcan training will provide participants with a brief training on how to recognize an opioid overdose, when and how to use Narcan, and a free kit to take home. The kit includes: 2 doses of Narcan, Fentanyl test strips with instructions, Face shield, Instructions on Narcan administration and a Recovery resource guide. This training is provided in coordination with clinicians from the Greater Boroughs Partnership for Health & Southborough Health Department and will be held in the Main Floor Stacks at the Southborough Library. Located on the top floor, a single court is available to all those who register within their chosen time frame.
Two levels of play are offered:Levels 2-3.25: Some experience/Beginner LevelLevels 3.5+: Intermediate-Advanced
6 week sessions - $30

Pickleball Lessons - Indoor Pickleball: Beginner II (Friday) BEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Our curriculum will begin with the basics and end with participants playing full games against each other.- Space is limited to 6 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.BEGINNER 2Must have completed Beginner 1 clinic or rated 2.5 with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. This is for players who want to gain more confidence on the court and improve their overall pickleball experience. The program focuses on proper technique and mechanics in developing more consistency with shots like dinks, drops, groundstrokes, volleys, serves, etc.- Space is limited to 6 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. Transportation from Woodward and Neary schools are limited. Children must pack a nut-free lunch and water bottle. Movie snacks will be provided. Parents are responsible for pick-up at 3:30 pm from the Recreation building located at 21 Highland Street.
