WELCOME TO SOUTHBOROUGH PICKLEBALLBEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Our curriculum will begin with the basics and end with participants playing full games against each other.- Space is limited to 8 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.BEGINNER 2Players must have completed Beginner 1 clinic or rated 2.5 with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. Kids’ Test Kitchen is on a mission to get young eaters cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! In this one-day cooking class, your eaters, working together, will prepare entrées, fun snacks, and side items whose key ingredients are known to be really good! During this time, we’ll focus on learning practical cooking skills while finding fun ways to enjoy the produce of the season! Recipes for this class will be Tomato Tortellini Soup and Stovetop Apple Crumble. Yum!We will use every second of our time together! Along with cooking and tasting, which will be the emphasis, we’ll also take short breaks to burn up some calories and flex our brain muscles – digging a bit deeper into the world of nutrition with fun activities. Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy KTK, where participation is expected, but tasting is always optional. Safe Sitter ® Babysitting class + CPR/AED certification - Safe Sitter ® babysitting class + CPR/AED certification
Safe Sitter® babysitting classes have been preparing young teens to care for younger children for over 40 years. The program follows guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association. Students will learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. They will learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering and baby care. Learn skills such as choking rescue and learning a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Life & Business Skills: The ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students will receive a certification of completion of the class.

Students will explore the genre of collage art. More than just paper, ribbon, glue, and buttons; this class offers each student a chance to select and incorporate diverse mixed art media into one-of-a-kind compositions. During this six-week class, students will work on a book of multiple collages that express their unique creative interests and individual perspectives. Each week they will be given time to create and expand their knowledge of this art form in class and beyond. No experience necessary and beginners are welcome. First, our Right Brain Curriculum instructors will review the history of what we are about to build: How airports graduated from landing strips to vast travel networks or how aeroelasticity explains why the Tacoma bridge nicknamed “Galloping Gertie” collapsed. Then, it’s time to build! You will create a model of each structure out of an enormous assortment of provided Legos, then present your creation as we photograph and document it.Learning and Legos: Now that’s an adventure!

Safe Sitter® babysitting classes have been preparing young teens to care for younger children for over 40 years. The program follows guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association. Students will learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. They will learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering and baby care. Learn skills such as choking rescue and learning a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Life & Business Skills: The ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students will receive a certification of completion of the class.

Southborough Recreation has teamed up with Chess Wizards to bring you a fun, spooky afternoon of chess! Players will be grouped into two divisions—Beginner and Advanced—and will compete in four 15–20 minute rounds. First, our Right Brain Curriculum instructors will review the history of what we are about to build: How airports graduated from landing strips to vast travel networks or how aeroelasticity explains why the Tacoma bridge nicknamed “Galloping Gertie” collapsed. Then, it’s time to build! You will create a model of each structure out of an enormous assortment of provided Legos, then present your creation as we photograph and document it.Learning and Legos: Now that’s an adventure!

Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! WELCOME TO SOUTHBOROUGH PICKLEBALLBEGINNER 1Come join Southborough Recreation as we offer an instructional pickleball program for people new to the sport or just beginning. Led by an instructor, learn the game's rules, techniques and skills and join your community on the courts! Our curriculum will begin with the basics and end with participants playing full games against each other.- Space is limited to 8 players per session.- Limited equipment available to use. It is encouraged to provide your own paddle.BEGINNER 2Players must have completed Beginner 1 clinic or rated 2.5 with knowledge of scoring and court positioning. This is for players who want to gain more confidence on the court and improve their overall pickleball experience. The most intense and exciting program you have ever seen. The students will learn how to work together, strategize and exercise without even knowing it! There are tons of creative and competitive dodgeball games incorporated into this program – there will never be a dull moment!!! Gatorskin dodgeballs will be used which are proven to be the safest dodgeballs out there! Safety rules and regulations will be enforced before each class. Ready, Set, Dodgeball! Adult Pottery/Ceramics - Adult Pottery/Ceramics
Join resident instructor Chris Gazarian as he leads individuals of all levels who are interested in enhancing their pottery skills and knowledge. Through the creation process, students will explore the relationship between form and function and will receive demonstrations and instruction on basic hand-building construction processes and finishing techniques for functional ceramics. This 9-week class will also include a brief introduction to the potter's wheel for creating functional work. Looking for a fun activity to create an awesome sewing project? These classes will teach the basics of the sewing machine (including safety!) as well as some hand sewing techniques. No experience necessary and all materials are provided.One Day Sew Studio Class for Woodward and Neary StudentsGrades 2-5Classes Offered: November 18th and December 9thLocation: Sew Studio, 205 Turnpike Road, SouthboroughTransportation is provided after school to Sew Studio. Parent pick up is required at 5:30pm at Sew Studio, 205 Turnpike Road.During each one day program students will complete an adorable plush project:November 18th-Students will each complete an adorable plush Tom Turkey! He's great for cuddles or as a centerpiece on the kid's Thanksgiving table! December 9th- Students will each complete an adorable Snow Person! Decorate your new friend with a hat, scarf, and mittens!
