In collaboration with the Southborough Board of Health - Narcan is the brand name of the generic naloxone and is a life-saving medication that can reverse an overdose from opioids - including heroin, fentanyl, and prescription medications - when given in time. This Free Narcan training will provide participants with a brief training on how to recognize an opioid overdose, when and how to use Narcan, and a free kit to take home. The kit includes: 2 doses of Narcan Fentanyl test strips with instructions Face shield Instructions on Narcan administration Recovery resource guide This training is provided by clinicians within the Greater Boroughs Partnership for Health & Southborough Health Department and will be held in the Main Floor Stacks at the Southborough Library. Registration is Required. Space is Limited.

EVENT: BUG HUNTING WITH HANDS ON NATUREDATE: Wednesday, May 22TIME: 4:00-5:00 PM AGES: 5 and upDESCRIPTION: Heather from "Hands on Nature" will return to the library to teach children about our local bugs, including beetles, worms, slugs, ladybugs, and caterpillars. Kids can observe live bugs through magnifiers and then go on a bug hunt on the library grounds! Sponsored by Friends of the Southborough Library.

Healthy Body Healthy MindFor Mental Health Awareness Month, the library is offering a fun workshop that combines movement and breath work with journaling and conversation! Taught by fitness instructor Ashley Mitchell, teens will learn exercises to help to navigate everyday challenges, and foster personal development, confidence, and excellence.This workshop is for all levels and requires no equipment other than a yoga mat. Breakfast food will be available.
